The Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard This Sunday has the parable that Jesus told about the workers in the vineyard. Every resource on our site was made possible through the financial support of people like you. So in the story, the employer simply couldn’t bear the idea of paying his workers less than a living wage. He was a respected religious leader, but he was born in a barn. It just won’t work. The landowner hires day workers throughout the day but in the end, when it is time to pay the workers all of them get the same pay regardless of how long they have worked.
